Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I work with individuals, couples, adolescents and groups recovering from the effects of depression and anxiety disorders, relationship difficulties, self-harm behaviors, violence, substance abuse, and trauma. My clinical experience includes private practice, outpatient community clinic, residential psychiatric treatment, and non-profit settings. In an environment of safety and respect, we engage in a meaningful conversation that brings hope, self-understanding, acceptance, and empowerment. Because I value and trust my clients, I focus on their goals throughout therapy. Together we discover the breadth of their needs and hopes, and look for ways to have those needs met in healthy relationships, with self and others. I bring a multi-cultural sensitivity that respects sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. I look forward to being of service to you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
