Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
“I have a tremendous faith in the limitless potential of human resiliency that empowers every person’s intrinsic drive to heal, grow, and thrive.
If given the appropriate and timely guidance, I believe that every individual’s innate and unique capacities can be fully maximized and fulfilled. Successful therapy begins with knowing the person as a whole because it is only in the presence of a genuinely meaningful human connection that each person’s subjective reality can be thoroughly understood. Over the course of my career as a psychotherapist, I have repeatedly witnessed and hence adopted the power of “healing through relationship” as the core basis of my clinical approach.
I have worked in a variety of different mental health settings including programs of dual diagnosis, HIV/AIDS patients in the GLBT communities, and chronically mentally ill adult patients. In addition, I have extensive experience working with children, couples, and families with culturally diverse backgrounds and distinctly challenging issues.
These clinical experiences have also taught me the value of contextualizing each person’s subjective experiences to ensure the most individualized means of achieving success.”
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Redding, CA 96001

Approximately half of Dr. Copitch's practice involves children and families. The other half is devoted to individual therapy. And, as Dr. Copitch often jokes, "the third half of my work is devoted to school consultations, business consultations, and corporate trainings."
