Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Allie seeks to help clients access their own inner wisdom and natural tendencies toward wellbeing, expand upon their unique strengths, while releasing emotional and behavioral patterns that no longer serve them. Allie completed her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Art Therapy in 2004 and became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2007. She has been working with children, adolescents, and families for over ten years, in a variety of settings. She is skilled in a number of techniques, which help her to cater to individual needs and comfort levels, often using art therapy and sand play therapy to help her clients explore feelings, thoughts, and ideas that are difficult to express verbally. Allie has a holistic view of wellbeing including the role of spirituality in emotional and behavioral health. She completed her certificate in Spiritual Counseling at California Institute of Integral Studies in 2009. She continues to work on her doctorate in East-West Psychology. Allie, a mother of two, is interested in working with parents and families to bring balance and harmony into child rearing and family life. She has also completed over 300 hours of yoga teacher training and integrates the wisdom of this Eastern philosophy into her practice.
