Personal Statement:
I enjoy working with people who want to change patterns of thinking and behavior to create a more enjoyable experience of life. I offer various therapeutic methods for improving personal and professional relationships, increasing self-esteem, overcoming pain from the past, clarifying life focus, unblocking creativity, overcoming addictions, and in navigating many kinds of life transitions and challenges. I will work with you to set goals for your therapy.

Having worked in the business world before becoming a psychotherapist. I am interested in facilitating balance between career and other aspects of life. Experience in working with shyness, worry, women in recovery, transitioning to parenthood, and health and aging issues.

I teach stress reduction and stress-management to parents, youth, business professionals, psychotherapists, and at homeless shelters, senior centers, recovery programs, and abused women’s shelters. Individual or group sessions.

Featured Therapist

Kelly Duggan Shearer, M.A.
Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
