Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Amy Green is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and has received years of training with multiple agency's and various County mental health systems. Amy has been in private practice since 2010, and created Sunset Counseling Center's group practice in 2012 with the vision of providing quality counseling services to individuals and families, from competent and compassionate therapists. Her style is interactive, supportive and positive. She utilizes strength-based interventions including; solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused CBT, dialectical behavioral, family systems, humanistic, positive parenting, attachment focused, and dyadic developmental psychotherapy. She also incorporates expressive therapeutic techniques including; art therapy, play therapy, and sand tray therapy. These expressive techniques allow clients of all ages to identify, explore, and resolve behavioral and emotional struggles. Most importantly, she is genuine and empathetic. She focuses on the therapeutic relationship and in providing a safe place to grow and heal. She listens carefully to each persons particular concerns, goals, and preferences. This allows her and the client to develop a treatment plan that will best meet their needs.
