Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I don't feel there is one "right" approach to therapy, as each client is so unique. I therefore work from a very eclectic framework, conceptualizing cases from an insight-oriented perspective and incorporating brief goal-directed techniques specifically tailored to the individual client’s needs. I will often integrate elements from Cognitive Behavioral, Gestalt and Family Systems modalities. I have experience working in residential and outpatient settings and in collaborating with other professionals in the treatment team. I work with clients who present with a wide range of problems, ranging from severe chronic illness and substance abuse, to more temporary difficulties affecting those experiencing life transitions and/or relationship concerns. My goal is to find ways to help you find meaning and happiness in your life and join with you in your journey to better understand yourself and your relationships.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
