Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I work with couples, teens, and adults in a caring and supportive environment. My particular areas of interest are:

  • Working with adolescents and their families, to help them navigate the difficult issues of identity-formation, independence-versus-nurturing, and communication challenges.

  • Working with people experiencing identity issues of all sorts, especially as they come up in the adolescent and/or mid-life years.

  • Working with adolescents who were adopted into their families or who have spent time in the foster-care system, especially as these experiences affect their sense of themselves.

  • Working with people who are struggling to manage their symptoms of ADHD and/or Bipolar Disorder: helping with self-monitoring, organization, and adjusting to the changes experienced with prescribed medications.

  • I consider it an honor to work with each of my clients, and I welcome your inquiries.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
