Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I love what I do and believe in the transformation I see happen in therapy. I provide a safe, caring atmosphere for that transformation to occur while helping you learn new skills and understanding. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist. I received a Master's Degree in Psychology from Chapman University in 2005, have been licensed as a LMFT since 2008, and received my CCPS certification from The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS) in 2016. I trained with Barbara Steffens PhD to become a CCPS, and utilizes a trauma perspective in treating the traumatic impact of sex addiction upon the partner or spouse. My clinical experience includes addiction, partner trauma, women’s issues, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and attachment repair. In addition to my own private practice I currently facilitate group therapy treatment at LifeSTAR for spouses/partners of individuals struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors and provides individual, marital, and family therapy for partners and those struggling with addiction. I also have extensive experience working with adolescents struggling with behavioral & emotional issues. In addition, I have professional training and experience in Program Development & have worked as Director for crisis, residential, and outpatient programs. I chartered the Sierra Foothills Chapter of CAMFT in 2010 and served on the Board of Directors until 2013. I am a current member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS), and the Association of Mormon Counselors and Psychotherapists (AMCAP). I am an advocate for individuals with mental health issues and I am constantly learning and working to improve my skills as a therapist. I also enjoy running, gardening, music, reading, and spending time with family.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
