Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Amy Stella works with individuals and couples, specializing in relational concerns, anxiety and depressive disorders, trauma, addiction, and problems pertaining to transitions and phase of life issues. Combining her academic knowledge with her unique understanding and empathy for each client, Amy uses a technique that combines different psychoanalytic schools of thought. Through this approach, Amy helps clients gain an awareness of previously unconscious aspects of themselves through mindfulness, mind-body integration, and attachment theory which, in turn, helps them change problematic coping mechanisms and ways of being, such as ineffective decision-making and interpersonal patterns. Amy also uses cognitive-behavioral theory to assists clients in finding adaptive ways of perceiving themselves, others, and circumstances. Behavioral interventions involve the teaching of skills needed for effective coping, communication, self-care, and symptom relief.

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
