Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been a professional LMFT since 1975 and founded the Self-Awareness Institute in 1983. In addition to providing therapy for individuals, couples, marraiges, teenagers, and children, I conduct a treatment/counseling program over a weekend for individuals, couples/marriages and teenagers.

In 1983 I founded this 'one-of-a-kind' alternative mental health service and treatment/counseling program called 'The Self-Awareness Weekend (Marathon)'. Check our web site www.selfawarenessweekend. com for more information. I have extensive experience in working with anger issues, anxiety, addictions, abuse of any kind in childhood or adulthood, depression, grief, stress, relationship issues, couple/marrige counseling, domestic violence and unresolved childhood issues. The purpose and theme of my work is much more than 'talk therapy'. I support clients in experiencing and releasing repressed feelings, making new life-changing decisions, and creating self-fulfilling behaviors. My intention is to be effective in creating life-changing results in a short period of time.

I am comfortable in working with any type of crisis situations mainly due to my work as a nurse. And, my nursing background supports me in bringing a holistic approach to my psychotherapy work. Insurance Accepted: All insurances that pay MFTs, i.e. Aetna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, , MCC Behavioral Care, Interplan, Megallan, Value Options

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
