Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been a licensed MFT for ten years. As an MFT Intern, I conducted intake and assessment, crisis intervention, psychological consultation, clinical case management, and social services at the Community Insitute for Psychotherapy, Jewish Family and Children's Services, and the Psychotherapy Institute. Post licensure, I have provided brief and long term therapy, case management, social service interventions, and employee assistance counseling for Pathmakers, VMC Behavioral Healthcare Associates, and Managed Health Network. Currently I am employed as Lead Therapist for the Youth and Family Services Bureau of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, serving at risk youth and their families with counseling, case management, and crisis intervention. I maintain a private practice treating a diverse client population of adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families with a variety of issues including substance abuse, family, marital, and relationship conflicts, depression, anxiety, stress management, and work-related issues.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
