Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Our lives are shaped by our relationships to others, with each connection we make influencing the way we view ourselves and the world at large. In my therapeutic work, I aim to help people understand themselves within the context of their relationships and to tap into their ability to develop the kinds of relationships and lives they desire. Although life can certainly present us with obstacles, it is important to remember that we get to choose how we respond to those obstacles. Therefore, I wish to assist my clients in gaining awareness of the power they have to influence their lives in positive ways. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic ideas in my work with individuals, couples, and families, all with the single aim of helping people to increase their awareness of the role they play in their lives and to discover the power they have to influence the change they desire. I take an active role in my therapeutic work, seeing myself as a collaborating partner in my clients' journey to becoming the person, couple, or family they desire to be. I promote compassion and curiosity for my clients' experiences, acknowledging that judgment has no place in this work.
