Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Life can be difficult and you are the expert of your life. It is my privilege to help you decide what you want to achieve in therapy and work with you on your goals in a way where you feel heard. I have worked with adults and children struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or marital/relationship conflict. I can help families deal with: parent/child conflicts, school discipline or performance problems, behavior problems and/or any other problems of daily teenage living. I am genuinely excited to have the opportunity to help you. I also have experience with helping individuals and families deal with being caregivers as well as grief. I can help you with the grief that comes from an obvious loss as well as those from planned or unplanned life transitions (death, marriage, divorce, loss of job or house, etc.). I have a great understanding of those who have suffered from difficulties with the impositions of religion/spirituality. I also have experience with Pacific Islanders, specifically Samoan culture, and other cultures including Latino and African American. I also understand bicultural relationships.

About My Practice

M-F 4pm-7pm; Sat 9am-3pm; Sun 10:30am-3pm Other times as necessary
I provide individual child and adult counseling, couples counseling, and family therapy. I have an open approach to each issue but I see how family systems impact each person as they relate to others. I then utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Strategic Family Therapy, amongst other interventions to work through the issue or issues at hand.
