Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Angie’s work is centered on health and wellness. From the moment treatment begins, Angie listens deeply. She sees her clients for who they are at their core and assists them to find wholeness. She uses her extensive training to heal, empower, and equip her clients with the tools they need to thrive to their full health of mind, body, and spirit. Angie holds a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University (MN), a Bachelor’s of Science from Augsburg College (MN) in Music Therapy and Certification in Massage Therapy from The Aveda Institute (MN). She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 94562), Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), and both State and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist (NCTMB, CMT). Angie takes this holistic and systemic knowledge and approach into her practice. Angie has worked in treatment centers, hospitals, nonprofits, hospice, preventative care (chiropractic clinics, rehab facilities, spas, and wellness centers), and developmental services. She learned the impact and power of forgiveness during her hospice work. She learned about the physiological impact of trauma and emotional symptoms through her massage work. Music Therapy has taught her about resiliency and ability in some of the most difficult circumstances. Angie offers individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, children, adolescent, group counseling, music therapy, and massage therapy. Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
