Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Although change is natural and often necessary part of our lives, change can feel overwhelming and intimidating. Unexpected change forces us to re-evaluate our direction and purpose. I help others who are stuck, by supporting them as they discover parts of themselves that they didn’t realize existed. By finding their hidden potential, people can begin to move forward with confidence as they realize change can be exciting.

My specialty is working with children and adolescents whose lives have been affected by change. Most times, they don’t understand what is happening but they still feel responsible for what is happening. Utilizing art and play therapy, I help children learn, develop and express their feelings in their natural method of learning – Play. I try to encourage adults to use this same creativity and freedom that children so naturally use.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
