Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
A call to grow often comes to us through crisis: health issues, sudden loss, natural life transitions--endings and beginnings, struggles in our relationships, chronic anxiety, feeling isolated… Therapy can help. I see myself as a guide and guardian while clients come back into balance ---as individuals in the world as well as in their relationships. For a while clients borrow my trust in the process. Together we learn about the aspects of you that may have lost their voice or needs that have been abandoned in order to survive and move forward in life. As we learn to hold ourselves more kindly, this process often includes letting go and grieving, right along with honoring strengths and gifts already possessed. At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
