Personal Statement:
While completing her pre-medicine requirements as an undergraduate at UCLA, Athena realized that there was a distinction between treating and healing. Her interest in healing led her to begin studying holistic medicine in 1995. Athena is trained in massage therapy, has a Master’s Degree in Somatic (Body-Oriented) Psychology and specializes in working with trauma. Her work has been focused in healing trauma, as well as supporting growth and development throughout life. She is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Director of Wellness Works Holistic Health Center. She practices traditional psychotherapy and body-oriented psychotherapy utilizing her intuitive gifts and offering tools for empowerment, while addressing we are mind-body-spirit. With great compassion and respect, Athena brings awareness to that which is present in growth, transformation and healing.
