Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Bonnie McLaughlin began her private practice in the Burbank/Glendale area in 1990 where she worked with couples, families and individuals on issues related to relationships, parenting, substance abuse, and recovery from childhood abuses. She currently works out of two locations; one in Newhall and the other in Palmdale.

Before becoming a therapist, Bonnie was an elementary school teacher, principal, and guidance counselor. She has also worked in various programs with developmentally disabled children and adults. She frequently speaks on topics including: Child Abuse, Stress and Anger Management, Substance Abuse, Parenting, Communication and Relationships.

Bonnie has had many life experiences that lend themselves to compassionate and supportive guidance of others who may be struggling in their own current life circumstances. Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone.
