Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
It's all about relationships. It is most often through relationships that we are injured, often in our earliest years, by those we most depend upon. And, it is through relationships that we can heal these early wounds. What I have discovered is truly healing is my capacity to offer you a new and different experience of yourself -- as it is almost certain that I will see you very differently than your parents/caregivers saw you. Your experience of being seen and interacted with differently is a huge part of the healing process, and can be very freeing and empowering. I have extensive training and experience working with trauma of all kinds, as well as specialized training in working with children, including use of SandPlay, and with couples, utilizing an emotionally focused model. I enjoy working with a diverse clientele. Of particular reward to me is witnessing the empowerment of those in oppressed or disenfranchised positions. I am equally comfortable working with children, teens and adults.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
