Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I welcome individuals and couples for a variety of emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns. The first word about good therapy that it creates a space of safety and nurture. From there, some problems seem to be best alleviated by a short-term solution-focused work, though I often see clients for medium and long-term periods (over 25 sessions) where deeper growth becomes possible. Issues of grief, loss, depression, anxiety, effects of abuse, relational discord, and spiritual struggles (especially Christian) are all common in my office, and I consider it a deep privilege, and pleasure, to walk through this terrain with clients. Therapy works. I have been trained in a variety of the current psychotherapies, and tailor my approach depending on the presenting problem and collaborate decisions I make with the client. I see clients at two locations: Community Presbyterian Counseling Center 375 Diablo Rd. Suite 109 Danville, California 925-820-1467 Also, in a private practice office in Orinda, CA: 23 Altarinda Rd. Suite 102 Orinda, CA 925-360-1802
