Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
The process of looking within has always been of significant interest to me. As a theater educator and director I helped people find a greater sense of themselves bringing introspection and creativity into each rehearsal. I invite you to find the stage within. Find peace in the drama that life brings. Currently I work with families and young children at my private practice in San Mateo. Collectively I taught theater arts, preschool teacher and I have now been a counseling for a total of twenty years. Through all of these experiences I have helped families grow and develop to their greatest potential. I have volunteered at several local organizations: The San Mateo Mothers Club, Communities Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA), InnVision / Shelter Network, The San Mateo Country Crisis Hot Line (Star-Vista). These experiences brought me in close contact with the needs of our community. I have had three years in private practice as an intern. Additionally I love to speak publicly on the topics of positive discipline for families, mindfulness and mental health topics. I am able to work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Call or email if you would like to schedule an initial appointment.

I am a Positive Discipline certified parent coach. I offer talks in my local San Mateo community. I provide families with homework and a personalized plan of action. You will receive handouts, guidelines for family meetings, and inspiration to set consistent limits. Instead of letting kids push our parenting buttons we need to push ourselves to model the behavior we wish to see. I also provide home visits to accommodate your schedule.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
