Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I practice depth psychotherapy with individuals and couples. My clients are educated, professional men and women. I specialize in issues related to midlife and beyond, particularly the crises and conflicts associated with aging. Often my clients have long-standing problems concerning love and relationships that have never been resolved, for example, trouble falling and remaining in love. I use deep conversation, free association, dreams, and active imagination to help clients enlarge their sense of identity and develop a greater appreciation of their gifts and talents. I believe spirituality is a major force in healing. Many difficulties are more easily resolved when we open to the transpersonal Self, or deep center of being and consciousness.

The C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco certified me as a Jungian analyst, and Harville Hendrix, author of 'Getting the Love You Want,' certified me in imago relationship therapy. I have studied object relations theory, self-psychology, and relational psychoanalysis for the past 25 years.
