Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Burke is an experienced psychotherapist who works with individuals and couples. She has been encouraged by the results she has seen over the years in working from, and encouraging her clients to work from, a place of integrity to self-define the ways in which we compromise our values, have been coerced into accommodating to others and/or have allowed others to compromise their values. She encourages clients to identify and clarify their values and to live a life that is congruent with those values. Her expertise is in chemical dependency work as well as couples therapy, although her caseload runs the range of issues. She is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist. She utilizes her personal mindfulness practice in her work, enhancing and supporting her clinical orientation, which is based on Differentiation/Bowenian Family Systems Theory.
