Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1978. I am a 1975 Graduate of Chapman University’s Counseling Psychology program. I was affiliated with St. Mary’s Community Counseling Center, a church based program, for twelve years. For 14 years I was affiliated with, and part owner of Associated Counseling and Consulting Services in Vanderberg Village/Lompoc. I have also been providing counseling to the Santa Ynez Valley since 1984, known as Family Guidance Service. I was responsible for setting up Valley Community Counseling, an outreach of the Santa Ynez Presbyterian Church since 1999, where I supervised three interns through licensure. I continue to be Clinical Director for that agency. Prior to this profession I was in the Aerospace industry for 38 years. I also taught Sociology and Psychology courses for Allan Hancock College for 18 years, with occasional courses taught at Chapman University and UCSB.

Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
