Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe each person has a unique story to tell. As the client tells the story, the history, origin and redundancy of the presenting problem begins to unfold, thus, a new power develops to make constructive choices. The process of telling the story along with my guidance, eventually helps shed guilt, shame, and fear enabling the client to move forward in resolving conflict(s). My belief is that people who know their assets and liabilities, as well as their repetitive patterns in relationships, are far more likely to succeed at work and also more likely to have better intimate relationships. My style is warm, pragmatic and my main approach is Psychodynamic. I specialize in treating marital relationships, addictive relationships, co-dependence, anxiety and depression. I also have extensive experience in dealing with clients who have experienced traumatic events. These events often bring with them issues of abandonment, separation anxiety, as well as loss and grief. I welcome helping the client overcome interferences created by these problems. I have practiced as a psychologist /psychoanalyst, teacher and supervisor for 30+ years. I have attained a variety of therapeutic skills over the years and draw on that knowledge for each client as needed. Clients are invited to a free consultation to explore my approach directly. To schedule a visit, please call (310) 535-3030.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
