Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe “holding” environment for my clients. Within the therapeutic relationship, clients can explore and heal the trauma of past experiences. I am informed and guided in my work by Attachment, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Theory. I have been a practitioner for 18 years.

I am particularly interested in helping people of all ages move through life transitions that are precipitated by the loss of significant relationships. This could be the loss of a life partner/family member through death or divorce. It could also be the loss of a child who has “left the nest”.

It is my belief that an empathic therapeutic relationship can provide a reparative experience to people who are grappling with separation and loss. The reparative relationship will ideally guide my clients through “stuck” places in their lives, and allow the formation of satisfying new relationships.
