Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
“If you’re gonna make a change, you’re gonna have to operate from new belief that says life happens not to me but for me.” I specialize in working with individuals who are going through a life transition or feel as though they are at an impasse, and are seeking to find direction and clarity. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, with an understanding that therapy is most effective when the client and therapist work as a team. Through an alliance of trust, empathy, and collaboration, I work with you towards implementing change. I also identify as a culturally sensitive therapist as I recognize the importance of how our diverse and cultural backgrounds play a role in our lives and impact our lives. Through creating a safe and non-judgmental space, clients are better able to increase their understanding of themselves and others. While I primarily work through a humanistic and psychodynamic lens, I use cognitive behavioral therapy tools, mindfulness techniques and other therapeutic styles depending on what works best for the client. One of the biggest rewards of being a therapist is watching the transition of people developing greater self-awareness, embracing their true self, developing more intimate interpersonal relationships, and finding empowerment through living each day authentically. I look forward to meeting you. If you have any comments or questions about my approach to therapy, please feel free to contact me.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
