Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
What if your partner completely was able to understand and actually hear you? If you are feeling disconnected from a loved one, whether it be your romantic partner, or your child or someone else you love, it can be difficult to find connection and empathy. I can help to give you the tools you need to renew and revive your relationship! We often feel as if we are taken for granted by those we love, and find difficulty repairing the relationship after conflict. We can work collaboratively to prepare for the future and to find connection and once again turn towards each other. We can find the tools you need to be able to effectively hear one another and understand your loved one. I am certified as a Prepare/Enrich facilitator to help couples prepare for their lives together going forward. I also have training in attachment and play therapy working with children and their parents, helping them to grow and support one another. It can be difficult and stressful to raise a child. Together we can navigate the developmental stages and develop a plan that works best for you and your household. Call me for a free initial consultation at (424) 645-7705. I also have the ability to work on a sliding scale fee.

Donna J. Shanahan, MA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
