Personal Statement:
Carla Buchanan is a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in private practice with offices in San Francisco and Marin County. She works with families, couples, individuals and adolescents, addressing a range of clinical issues which include depression, anxiety, parenting concerns and relational problems. Her clinical approach is eclectic and draws on family systems, cognitive behavioral and humanistic / existential models. She is particularly interested in assisting individuals and families as they negotiate the inevitable developmental stages and transitions that are a part of every human life. Mrs. Buchanan also has an ongoing private practice as an educational therapist doing psychoeducational assessment and addressing the social and emotional issues that can be associated with learning disabilities.
