Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Whether you need help coping with loss, transitions, or relationships; seek greater self-understanding and personal growth; feel "stuck;" or want relief from anxiety or depression, therapy can help. I believe we hold the answers we seek within ourselves but may have difficulty finding them on our own. I serve as a supportive guide who leads each client through a process of self-discovery. I provide a non-judgmental and safe environment in which to address problems and challenges. I see therapy as a collaborative effort and use an approach that draws upon different theories and practices based on a client's needs and circumstances. My work has been with clients of different ages, diverse backgrounds, and with a wide range of issues. I have specific training (EMDR) and experience helping clients work through trauma. I also have over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their parents, and educating about positive parenting skills. I strongly believe that one of the most significant parts of successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. I want you to feel comfortable with me as your therapist and confident that I can provide you with the type of services you need. Let's find out if we're the right fit!

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
