Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I like to work with people of all ages and tap into their vitality and wellness. Often with adults I am interested in getting beyond everyday conversation into deeper layers of self, incorporating an inward focus of the body, mind and spirit. I want to assist you to get in touch with your aliveness, or follow your "calling". I am eclectic and offer a strength based approach to help with depression, anxiety, transitions, relationship challenges, overall stuckness and other challenges. My approach is humanistic and compassionate providing the support needed to get through the hardships into a more empowered, creative and celebratory self. I have a strong, somatic (body based) background. I am authentic and open-hearted. I can be serious as well as playful, providing a nurturing and safe environment to work deeply and effectively. I enjoy working with those from diverse cultures as well as holding an environment of inclusiveness to all sexual orientations and gender preferences.

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
