Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been a licensed marriage family therapist for 27 years and my approach to therapy is that clients have the ability to change and it is my desire to be with the client in that journey. My background is in the entertainment business and I feel that I have the expertise to work with individuals and couples that are in front of the camera as well as working behind the scenes. Other areas of expertise include working with gay/lesbian/bisexual, transgender, cross-dressers and individuals questioning their gender identity, sexual identity or sexual orientation. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, family systems and psychodynamic. I am an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University and Phillips Graduate Institute. I am also certified to do EMDR and Dispute Resolution and Mediation.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
