Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have extensive experience working with individuals and families regarding a variety of issues. These issues include but are not limited to: couples experiencing relationship difficulties, family conflict, individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, work/career related stressors, anger, boundary issues and parenting. Often people come to therapy to seek personal growth and through the continuing conversation come to a greater awareness of their needs and wants. I also have extensive experience working with survivors of incest/molestation. In my practice, I also address spiritual issues as they relate to overall emotion and psychological health.

In addition, I work with adolescents struggling both emotionally and academically. A unique feature of my practice includes working with families and students as they go through the college application process just as I did as a high school guidance counselor. I offer a sliding scale for all services based upon income and individual circumstances.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
