Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
In the midst of everyday life, we encounter many situations and people who contribute to our difficulties in maintaining a positive sense of our self. Our lives and relationships have become chaotic and we, in turn, have lost our balance. I am here to assist individuals, couples, children and adolescents discover their core sense of self and to maintain a renewed way of living. You will learn positive communication skills, constructive coping skills, parenting tools, assertiveness training, and development of positive self-esteem – any tool needed to better enable a more peaceful way of life. Overall, we will develop constructive tools in order to build confidence within yourself and your relationships.

If we can all maintain a positive stance in our own individual life, can one imagine what effect we may have on society as a whole?

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
