Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Coping in today's stressful society can be challenging. Life's transitions or traumatic events can unbalance one's state of mind and daily actions. Integrating our experiences, becoming aware and choosing new behaviors, restoring our sense of self and finding the energy to grow again is essential for people of all ages. I believe the safety of a therpeutic relationship can help you explore your challenges and help you discover your full potential.

Featured Therapist

Kelly Duggan Shearer, M.A.
Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
