Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and groups who wish to make their lives and relationships more vital, satisfying, and reflective of their core values. My therapeutic orientation is an eclectic blend of psychodynamic, object relations, attachment, and humanistic psychology. I draw from a range of therapeutic interventions such as traditional talk therapy, exploration and processing of family history as it relates to current difficulties, relaxation techniques, art therapy, education, dream analysis, assertiveness training, and cognitive behavioral techniques.

My style of therapy is interactive, supportive and geared towards helping clients increase awareness and develop insight into feelings, thoughts, and behavior patterns that contribute to current difficulties, unhappiness, and dissatisfaction. During the course of therapy clients connect with and build on existing strengths, develop new self-care strategies, and move toward becoming freer, more self-aware and self-accepting.
