Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT) and a board certified art therapist (ATR-BC). I am located in Palo Alto. I provide individual and family therapy for children, adolescents, and their parents, and I offer the additional service of home-based therapy. I also offer parent and school consultation to build and sustain consistency within the family system. I use a relationship-based approach, which include active curiosity, empathy, and collaboration in the process of therapy. I utilize art, play, sandtray therapies, in addition to more traditional approaches and theories in working with children and adolescents. I have wide-ranging experience in the treatment of children and adolescents, as well as with families and parents. Pertinent areas of expertise include the impact and treatment of trauma and abuse, attachment and relationship issues, parenting strategies, family discord, aggression, anxiety, depression, impulsivity and attention difficulties, and behavioral, academic, and other school related problems.
