Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I consider therapy a collaboration between myself and the client. Some are in search of personal growth; others are in crisis. The richness of these experiences helped me to understand that every client comes to therapy with different needs. I tend to work from a cognitive behavioral approach but also use a variety of therapeutic styles. I worked for many years in the entertainment industry, collaborating with many creative musicians and songwriters. I would often witness the life struggles a creative mind endures. Since 2004, I have worked with children and young adults with special needs, mainly focusing on autism in the area of social thinking. I work with families, offer parents behavior consultation, work with siblings and children who are affected by the autism offering support, practical life skills, and Applied Behavior Analysis techniques.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
