Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Compassionate mindfulness-based therapy for groups, individuals, couples, and families struggling with relationship and family conflict, the impact of hurt/trauma, and grief & loss. I specialize in working with survivors of sexual trauma including sexual assault, covert and overt childhood sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and sexual exploitation. I have worked within the rape crisis movement since 2004 and until recently served as the Director of Counseling for the local rape crisis center. I am deeply aware of the impact of surviving sexual trauma and offer a safe compassionate space for your healing journey. I believe that you deserve to be in a therapeutic relationship that is safe, validating, and collaborative. We all deserve this :) I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience working with survivors of different forms of hurt including domestic violence, drug use/abuse, oppression, neglect, physical & verbal abuse, and divorce. In addition, I provide consultation and trainings to community agencies on sexual trauma and crisis counseling. I believe that healing is a life-long process that allows us to find incredible strengths within ourselves.
