Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Therapy may be a journey for you to seek fulfillment, growth, and acceptance during times of stress. I would like to help you to heal from setbacks and to assist you with realizing your strengths to overcome challenges. Using a gentle, yet direct approach, my intention is to provide you with a safe and empathic environment for you to explore your past, present, and future. My specialties include working with couples and individuals as they become aware of negative patterns such as fear that may no longer serve them in order that they may choose to practice new ways of coping and move towards healing. I also work those suffering from difficult emotional, behavioral, and relational issues in order to improve positive communication and self-expression. I have training and experience with trauma, abuse, grief, and mood disorders, and in the evidenced based practices of both trauma (TFCBT) and family therapy (FFT). I enjoy helping parents and adolescents create mutual understanding and increased compassion. I embrace diversity and have a special interest in working with acculturation as well as multi-cultural relationship issues.

Featured Therapist

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
