Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Southern California Transgender Counseling provides a safe, non-judgmental space where appreciation for the uniqueness of each personal journey guides the therapeutic gender exploration. As acceptance of gender is central to acceptance of the self, our goal is to engage in a supportive, sensitive and empathic process of discovery and resolution. SCTC also considers friends, families and significant others, as their lives become impacted by movement toward self and gender definition. Together with the individual we aim to create a holistic framework where optimism and hope for the future of the true self become reality.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
