Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My role as a therapist is to create a safe and therapeutic environment for your child or teen to express their feelings and learn new ways to handle their problems. I have years of experience working in Family based agencies, private practice, and with the Los Angeles Unified School District’s School of Mental Health with at-risk teens and children in crisis. Often times, school problems, peer pressure, and family conflict and changes will result with your child acting out with signs of anger, depression, withdrawal and a decline in grades and motivation. I will work with your child to help communicate and figure out how to improve their situation so that they can start to feel positive about themselves. Play therapy is often an effective way to help younger children work through their issues in a way that is familiar to them. Creating a trusting and cooperative relationship is crucial to gaining insight into your child’s world. I work to gain this trust by learning to understand their pains and conflicts as we work together to create solutions for a more balanced, fulfilling life.
