Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
The therapist’s task is to provide as far as is possible the ideal conditions for self-reflection, a place where one can explore the past, present and future apart from the pressures of life, in privacy, without judgment. The therapy room should serve as a ‘secure base’ from which one can roam freely and return for honest curious reflection, guidance and support.

My specialties include addiction and impulse-control issues, depression, anxiety, adolescents and couples.

Judith McFarland M.A..

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Santa Rosa, CA

I am in private practice, delivering telemedicine via Skype and FaceTime or by phone. My area of special emphasis is helping people improve their important relationships, and working with my clients to decrease and stop depression. If you are reading this, chances are one or more of your important relationshps are not working very well. Whether it's difficulty with a partner or spouse, teens or parents, friends or co-workers, a troubled relationship is painful.
