Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Ready for change? Modern life places many demands on us, often negatively affecting our closest relationship and leading to worry, anxiety/panic attacks or depressed mood. I work collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families to address life challenges, find creative solutions to problems, and rebuild relationships. I accept Aetna, Cigna and Tricare insurance plans and offer concierge therapy services. My specialties include helping clients navigate difficult life transitions or loss; manage stress; gain coping skills for anxiety/panic; overcome career/workplace issues and creative blocks; build self-confidence; strengthen or repair relationships; and successfully move through family challenges such as infertility, post-partum depression, and deployments. Clients have described my style as collaborative and solution-focused. I also incorporate mindfulness-based cognitive therapy to assist clients with anxiety and stress reduction. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist I worked in arts and education for 12 years; I continue to lead trainings/workshops and serve as adjunct faculty at USD.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
