Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) in the city of Los Angeles. I have Master's Degrees in both Psychology and Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. My theoretical orientation and approach to psychotherapy is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Both theoretical orientations are based on the "here and now" type of therapy, which places an emphasis on problem-solving in the present and the future. It is a distinctly positive approach to psychotherapy. My role as a psychotherapist is to provide a safe nurturing therapeutic environment for clients to work through a wide range of problems. I work with clients as a partner, and assist them in developing more useful ways of thinking & behaving, which in turn improves overall mood & relationships with others. Both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Solution Focus Therapy are useful in resolving issues related to: low self-esteem,lack of confidence, fears and anxieties, depression, problems with relationships including family issues, grief and loss, and money and work issues.

Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
