Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Accessing your emotions and finding your voice can help you feel happier and build more fulfilling relationships. In therapy we'll identify your needs, explore behavioral patterns, and help you access a greater range of feelings. I provide a safe place to engage and work through emotional challenges. Through our work together, you'll move beyond the stuck places to gain a deeper understanding of your needs and how to express them. Together we can find relief, personal growth, and increased creativity in your daily life. I have worked with people of all ages. My experience includes couples, individual and child therapy. I help with issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship struggles, and adjustment to life changes, such as death, birth or divorce. I have a special interest in treating adult children of narcissistic parents, artists and writers.

Featured Therapist

Kelly Duggan Shearer, M.A.
Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
