Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Suffering from stress, depression, anxiety? Feeling overwhelmed? Having serious relationship problems? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, I would like to help you. Some clients need help discovering hidden possibilities within themselves and their relationships. Others already know what they could become but are hindered by anxiety, depression, addiction, harmful attachments and other obstacles. As people overcome these obstacles and realize their hidden potential, they start to feel better about themselves and about life. I begin my work with clients by understanding what their individual reasons for seeking counseling are. I then figure out which of various counseling approaches will help them most. Some people benefit mainly from having someone to talk to who will reflect back to them who they really are. Others seek advice solving specific problems. Still others want to understand why they have become the sort of person they are. And yet others want to learn various skills, like constructive communication and assertiveness skills. Throughout the counseling process I ask my clients to help me decide whether what we are doing is working for them and I make adjustments depending on what I learn from them. I especially enjoy working with people who are motivated to change and who use the counseling sessions as a place to learn things they apply in their every day life.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
