Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have found that working with people to achieve a better quality of life has been extremely rewarding. When I work with my clients, I like to help them to see their own potential and to develop the skills that they need in order to grow and enjoy a more fulfilling life. In my work with couples, I help them to develop relationship skills that strengthen their bond and allow them to experience more harmony. I am bilingual in Spanish and have a background in multi-cultural counseling. I have worked with adolescents and their families for the past ten years in the high school and counseling setting. At the high school setting, I lead student support groups. I have also worked in the area addictions, where I have helped people to experience recovery from drug and alcohol addicitions. Through the use of cognitive and behaviorial techniques, I help people to recover from depression and anxiety.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
