Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couple, family therapy, and Art Therapy. I received my B.A. degree in Sociology/Social Welfare from California State University, Northridge and my M.A. degree in Clinical Psychology/Art Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute. Among my expertise are depression, anxiety, self-esteem/personal growth and creative solutions, with a Humanistic, Family Systems approach. I did my post-graduate training at the Center for Individual and Family Counseling (CIFC) in North Hollywood.

I believe we all live in a world of stories and meaning we attach to these stories become a template of how we feel about ourselves. The emotional outcome of this thinking can be depression, anxiety, and at other times, happiness.

What is the meaning of these stories?
We all have within us access to a great wisdom, but we may not know this until we speak out loud. In a place that feels safe enough for us to talk about what is really going on in our lives without fear of being judged, abandoned, or criticized.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
