Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My practice is centered on helping the client become more aware of and reliant on his or her inner voice. I provide a safe, nurturing environment where we can explore what appears to be keeping the client from achieving his or her goals. I'm trained in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Trauma Resilience Model (TRM.) I use these modalities as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help the client work through past trauma and recognize self-destructive patterns. Some of my areas of expertise include mood disorders (anxiety and depression), relational issues, substance abuse and alcoholism, eating disorders and trauma (PTSD). Please contact me for more information.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
